#Day7 Roads Untraveled

Di postingan kali ini saya cuma pengin posting lirik lagu terbaru Linkin Park dari album Living Things yang judulnya sudah saya tulis di atas. Kenapa saya posting lirik tersebut? soalnya lagunya keren banget (buat saya, gak tahu buat orang lain). Liriknya sederhana tapi sangat bermakna and pas didengerin tuh lagu, rasanya adem. Cobain deh kalo nggak percaya. Selain itu, lirik lagu ini saya pikir ada kaitannya dengan dua postingan saya sebelumnya.

#Day 8: From The Inside

Bait-bait di atas bukan puisi karangan saya, tapi sebuah lirik lagu karya group musik rock terkenal mancanegara, Linkin Park, group musik idola saya. From The Inside, itu judul lagunya, merupakan single keempat dari album kedua mereka, Meteora, yang dirilis pada tahun 2004.

Saat pertama kali saya mendengarkan lagunya dan kemudian meresapi liriknya, saya berfikir lagu tersebut merupakan lagu tentang keputus-asaan dan kekecewaan seseorang terhadap seseorang  yang lain, dan saya juga berfikir lagu tersebut tak jauh-jauh dari tema cinta. Hal ini saya lihat dari lirik-liriknya yang menyebutkan bahwa tidak akan ada lagi kepercayaan yang akan diberikan pada seseorang yang telah dipercaya, dan biasanya lagu-lagu yang berkaitan dengan kepercayaan dan kekecewaan ya tidak jauh-jauh dari hubungan percintaan, ya nggak?

Tapi setelah saya melihat klipnya, saya berfikir bahwa penafsiran yang saya sebutkan di atas ternyata kurang pas. Dalam klip tersebut tidak ada sama sekali scenes yang memunculkan kode-kode tentang cinta, justru yang ada adalah riots di mana-mana. Sekelompok orang melakukan pengrusakan dan juga kericuhan dengan aparat seperti yang biasa kita temui dan lihat baik di televisi maupun di jalan-jalan saat ada demonstrasi. Nah, di sinilah saya melihat bahwa ternyata lagu tersebut merupakan sebuah respon terhadap realita yang mana sudah tidak "ada" lagi yang bisa dipercaya karena siapapun yang dipercaya sama-sama tak bisa memberikan kenyamanan, sama-sama merusak kepercayaan tersebut. Berbicara tentang Linkin Park, hampir semua lagu mereka saya suka. Selain lagu-lagunya enak didengar (bagi saya, dan saya yakin begitu juga bagi anda), hampir semua temanya tidak seperti kebanyakan lagu-lagu yang ada yang biasanya berbicara tentang cinta. Tema-tema lagu Linkin Park banyak berkaitan dengan modern condition dan kemanusiaan. Inilah alasan kenapa saya cukup mengidolakan Linkin Park.
